Clean the algae off, the apple snails don't care for it that much, they prefer algae pellets anyway. They can also get their algae from the gravel and ornaments. When using the macro setting, don't rely on the zoom, get close with the camera. Make sure the subject is in focus, not the background. That sometimes is the hardest part as most cameras seem to want to focus on the largest object in its view, which is the background. I will use my zoom when its needed, but most of the time I get better shots by taking the camera as close to the subject as possible without losing picture quality. As far as catching funny moments, thank you, but really its just that between the daily cooking and cleaning, I spend my free time watching sailevision.
