Sunburst was the first apple snail I saw and decided to get, her bright orange coloring was just alluring to me. She laid multiple clutches, but I had to freeze them as soon as they were made because I don't have the tank for growing them out in, let alone housing them for long periods if I needed to. The tank has been around 80 degrees due to the summer temperatures, and I know that shortens their lifespan. She was a full grown adult when I got her, very large (about golf ball sized) but I'm not sure her exact age when I got her. She was one of the largest in the tank I got her from. I knew it was going to be hard to lose her, because she was one of my first apple snails and just so fun to watch para sailing off the side of the tank or floating around on pieces of zucchini.
