Rest now Amber

Postby Amysnail on Wed Jan 23, 2013 8:06 pm

This morning I checked on my little guys, noticed a nice big clutch left for me, I was so happy, then I looked down into the 30 gallon tank to see if I could figure out which one layed it...Usually my girls will rest most of the day after laying a clutch. I looked at Amber, she is named that because her shell was chestnut, but it was so light you could see through it...So, Amber seemed to fit her. She had been going to the top alot the last few nights, so I think they are hers. But she wasn't resting....She was gone. She passed sometime this morning. And I don't know if it was the strain of laying, or what. This was her first clutch after all... I'm going to miss my Amber...As many snails as I have shared my life with, and several have come and gone...it never gets easier, does it? I know they don't live forever. But it's especially hard when you know it wasn't old age, and you wonder what you could have done. I'm going to miss my Amber.
