A week or so ago, my first ever apple snail ever, Bob, died. He was the most magnificent of them all, gracefully sliming across the wall, licking it with joy. But one day, due to my ill care, he inhaled 8 ppm of ammonia and closed up in his shell, never to come out again.
Magnificent Bob, you lived well.

He's really far in his shell, and smells too terrible for me to open the operculum. Any tips on how to get him out?
