reparing a shell

What is the best way to repair a shell on a sea snail. One of my snail did have a accident and part of his shell did break off. The snail is alive and appears to be coping with it. But he won't last forever with his shell broken.

I would assume the repair would be the same as with freshwater snails.

Where did it break? Can you post a picture of it?

It is a big damage to the shell. Large part of it is gone.

Here is a picture of the damage. I am sure that the snail can repair it. But I need to close the gap while he is fixing the shell.

I would try epoxy putty with something underneith, the same as for freshwater snails, although I don't know how long the snail can stay out of the water. It would be the first test of any sort of marine patching as far as I know.

I don't think I can get that material where I live. But I don't know how much longer the snail is going to last.

marine epoxy putty is used by plumbers, so it should be at most hardware stores in the glues section.
