Airwin, it was easy enough to fix. I just got out my handy dandy eraser.

An older post, but I ran across it today. I know some things are considered "delicacies" in other parts of the world, but for me a sensitive USA spoiled person, there are things that really get to me. Case in point, was one Survivor show episode, where they ate (dead) "water roaches," which were actually Giant Water Bugs. I know they are a great source of protein for the natives in foreign places, but to me, they were like my beloved (deceased) pet Giant Water Bug. Another thing, are the huge caterpillars. Again, a great source of protein for the people in that area, but to me, all I can see is the big Saturniid moth those caterpillars won't ever become, because some greedy person just ate it, hoping for money on TV! I guess we shouldn't watch the shows, but sometimes I admit that I do (Survivor, not Fear Factor!).

If I saw that episode, I would've screamed. Snails (along with most other animals) are to cute to be tortured. I understand eating them for food if you need it, but eating cute little things just for a chance at some money is wrong.
Whoo! I have now 45+ snails. I must get a name dictionary for all these new obssessions..

Well said, SnailFreak! I agree - if you are starving, I can kind-of understand that. Otherwise, it's just Wrong!

Cows are cute too. But I still eat them. At the same time, I don't want to watch them get slaughtered on tv. But....I still eat them. They just taste really good. Sorry, cows. I'll have to fall back on this homily: "If God didn't intend for us to eat animals, then why are they made out of meat?"

African bushmen may need they protein grubs provide, but the people on FF definantly don't.
