1000 ways to die revenge taken by the poor snails

i recently got an account with netflix on it had the seasons of 1000 ways to die. On one of the minisodes they had a guy trying to spice up the mood with exoctic foods in shock i watched him pull out a tupperware dish with land snails in it. In discuss i watched both of the people bite and tear the snails out of there shells. I couldnt believe it how gross and cruel. But to the snails defense the ones they had ate had blood worms that infested in the humans and kinda ate there brain...goes to show you dont eat snails they may bite back....GO SNAILS....sorry for the people who reallyed died from it but they should have thought twice and gone with oysters for the romance or some celery sticks.

Were they live snails? Snails are considered a delicacy in some places, and if they're killed at least mostly humanely beforehand I don't have a huge problem with it personally. But people eating animals or inverts alive just makes me furious. Most of the videos they show are re-enactments though unless it says otherwise, so those actors eating the snails probably didn't get sick, but hopefully it was fake or the snails were already euthanized.
