Here is an updated version. It shows half of the snail in low resolution.
The future versions will be transparant, so that one can see the internal organs.... but well, it will take some time before I'm there :smile:

This is what the man does for rest & relaxation! For my R&R, I'm content to see that the snails have nutritious food to eat, and clean,healthy, safe and attractive,living conditions. I'll bet it's impressive when Stijn REALLY gets serious! :eek:

NOW maybe I'll be able to tell the difference betweeen a male and a female. I think the site could also use a few photos of a snail, flipped over on its back, trying to get on its feet so you could see the difference between male and female.

btw, I will soon release an updated version. It's nearly finished and contains the kidneys, mouth, intestines, and the complete circulatory system. It really helps to understand the blood flow system of these snails....

One can see the thick aorta towards the head, the ampulla, the 2 heart chambers and the circulation around the gill and the kidneys.

Wow. I am truly humbled and impressed, as I am with your whole website. What I would like to know, is, Do you have any ulterior motive for all this?! Do you really do it all as a kind of hobby, or is there something else?

no, that was not the intention. Just a matter of avoiding people to complain that it doesn't work etc.

Applying skins? That sounds good!
Yes, sure, play around with the models. I'm not a 3D specialist, and I feel there is _room_ for improvement :wink:

I'm thinking of releasing the models under a kind of GPL licence. So that everyone can use them, but also allow me to use the improvements others make.
Any suggestions?

When can we have the cirulation system along with the the rest of the snail? I've been expirementing with applying skins to the organs. I think the bigest improvment you could do with the least work would be to make the shell a separate object than the body. Just my 0.02$
