Shell: The snail form this genus
all have a hyperstrophic sinistral shell, which means the shell is sinistral,
but the body of the snail is dextral.
The size of the shell varies from 35 mm to 65 mm height. The aperture is large
and globose, the umbilicus is widely open.
Operculum: Corneous operculum with center towards the columella side.
The shell is brown without are sometimes very faint bands.

Eggs: Deposited below the water in gelatinous mass.
Food:
Hibatat: Lansites varicus inhabits shallow, muddy pools of river banks.
Distribution: Ghana, Mali, Upper Volta, Burkina Fasso and Niger.
