Shell: The shell of this apple snail
species is has a relatively low spire and deep sutures (indented). The overall
appearance is somewhat similar to Pomacea glauca.
The shell has a light base colour with clear, thick brown spiral bands.
Operculum: The operculum is moderately thick and corneous. The structure
is concentric with the nucleus near the centre of the shell. The operculum can
be retracted in the aperture (shell opening).

Habitat and distribution:
Province of Chiapes, Mexico; Panama, Quito.
Recently distributed to the Caribbean Islands. This species is now well established
in some parts of Puerto Rico for example.
